The Game

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "The Game". I hope you enjoy tonight's tell of terror. If you have not already done so, please show support by clicking subscribe. Rather you are reading this story at dreadfuldiary.com, listening to the Podcast experience on YouTube, enjoying an original webtoon depiction of the story, or purchased my book, I thank you for allowing my dreams to come true, by making sure your nights are filled with nightmares from the darkest reaches of my mind. There was an old woman walking down the road. She was seen by 4 young adults driving a car. Their names were John, Sara, Tom, and Chelsie. Chelsie was single, while John and Sara were together. Tom was a friend of Sara's, but came along so Chelsie would not feel left out. They group of adults were planning a fun week trip at a cabin. The old woman reached her hand out, as though to ask for a ride. Tom did not want to stop, but Chelsie insisted. The old woman got into the car, and was thankful for the ride. She stated her name was Beth. She happened to live next door to the very cabin the young adults were renting. She asked if they would like to come over and play a game. They said they would have to think about it and thanked her for the offer.

They each thought it was strange that the old woman would invite them to come play a game. it just seemed so random. Chelsie and Sara both thought it would be nice to come and at least spend some time with her. Afterall, she could be all alone out here. Tom and John were skeptical, but wanted the week to go smoothly. They decided they would make the girls happy, and go over. Beth was pleased when she saw the young adults at the door. She prepared everyone a drink and cookies. They started to play a card game, until something happened. The young adults  started to pass out, as Beth smiled ominously.

The young adults each woke up in what they figured was the old woman's basement. They were chained up to a wall. In front of them was wood, basic tools, and some nails. The saw provided was hardly sharp enough to cut through the wood, let alone the steel chain. The old woman cackled a laugh, and stated it was time to truly play the game. She stated that they must build their own coffins, and that they each were going to die. She stated that, while following instructions would not spare their lives, it would spare them an unimaginable amount of pain. If they did not comply, she would torture them. In the end, she would consider sparing one of them if the final product is worthy. They did not understand why the woman had chosen to do this.

Chelsie refused to play the game. The woman unhooked her from the chain and grabbed her by the hair with an unhuman amount of strength. She broke the girl's arms and legs by snapping them. The bones were exposed through the skin. She was still alive but could not walk. It was near supernatural the strength of the old woman. She proceeded to go up the stairs. Chelsie was screaming in pain, while the others felt helpless. They started to try and work on their coffin, afraid of what the old woman might do to them. The old woman eventually reappeared, and she was carrying a large tub large enough for Chelsie filled with what appeared to be salt. She salted Chelsie's wounds, and she screamed in pain.

They soon realized that there were no nails for the coffin. The old woman smiled, as she pulled out each of Chelsie's teeth and cut off her fingers and toes one by one. She tossed them and advised those where to be used as the nails. This was too much for Tom to bare, and he spit on the old woman. He said that he would kill her. She just laughed and turned her attention back to Chelsie. She took her long nails and plucked the girls eyes out. She then tossed salt into the eye wounds, as though to just cause a little extra pain. Chelsie was still surprisingly clinging to life, if one would call it that. The old woman proceeded to skin the woman alive using her long nails, ripping off her flesh bit by bit. Each little strip, the old woman would apply salt and some form of ointment that seemed to cause the poor girl to live through every last rip of skin. She perfectly skinned her, and advised that her flesh would be the felt lining of the coffins. She then pulled out all of her hair. Chelsie now looked just a bit more than a skeleton at this point. With only her organs and muscles intact. She dropped Chelsie into a clear box so the others could watch, and rats started to slowly eat what was left. Chelsie seemed to cling on for what felt like hours until the screams finally stopped.

After seeing this horror, the others started working even harder, but the old woman remembered what Tom had done earlier. She stared at him, as though she was just in waiting. Tom eventually broke mentally, and just could not continue. Sarah and John tried to encourage him to push through, but he was not responsive. The Old woman unhooked Tom and strung him up high into the air on hooks. She opened up his chest and spread his rib cage like a blood egal, but the ointment she used seemed to prolong life as Tom endured. She removed his lungs and started to fill them with his own blood and guts. She through down his organs, and advised those were for the pillows. Tom slowly died, leaving only Sarah and John.

Sara and John waited for the Old Woman to sleep or leave, but she stared at them. Near unblinking. Whatever could she be. As time ticked on, John and Sarah both finished their coffins. A mixture of wood and the remains of their friends. The old woman had them both get into the coffins, and she started to bury them alive. They were too afraid to move. John, before he was buried, begged the old woman to kill him and spare Sara. This gesture took the Old Woman by pause. John stood up from the Coffin, and said that he was sorry he had cheated on Sara with Chelsie and that he loved her. If anyone deserves to die, it was him. Sara said thank you. As Sara uttered those words, the Old Woman through her shovel like a javelin that split Sara's head in half. John fell to his knees and cried. The Old Woman walked to him and placed her hands on his head. She said that her name was not Beth, but Ate, the goddess of guilt and obsession. Each of them were guilty of something, but he was the only one to admit his guilt. He was willing to die for the woman he loved. She could not honor his request, as Sara was pregnant with another man's baby. She also was not willing to risk her own life for his. The old woman faded away, and John woke up on the couch.

He heard the old woman's voice in his head, that he should not let his guilt and obsessions of worldly flesh hold him back, but to live a life of selflessness. For nothing is greater torture than a life unfulfilled. Sara came into the room, as did Tom and Chelsie. They asked if he was ready to go on their trip, as though nothing happened. John smiled, and advised that he was not going to go. He pulled Sara aside and told her congratulations, while holding her stomach. Sara was shocked that he knew. He told her about him and Chelsie, and that he was sorry. He got into his car, and moved on with his life.

Guilt, uncertainty, obsession, lust, greed, each of these worldly pleasures can be torturous to the soul. A life not lived full is a life not lived. No matter the torture, nothing is worse than wasting a life on regret.

Theadore the Clown Part I

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "Theadore the Clown Part 1". I hope you enjoy tonight's tell of terror. There once was a Clown named Theadore. Theadore was not always a Clown. When he was young, he was an abused child. His mother and father beat him often. His father eventually ended up killing himself and his mother, with Theadore seeing it all. He was put in an orphanage, where he continued to be abused. Theadore finally caught a break, so it seemed, when he joined the circus.

The Circus was all fine and well, except for one problem. Theadore was not very good at being a Clown. All he had ever known was pain and sadness. As a result, Theadore would become quite frustrated. Theadore was made fun of, because he was not a great Clown. He was also a fairly lousy worker. One day, the Strongman was making fun of Theadore. Ivan was his name. Ivan was lifting weights, and Theadore saw he was struggling. Ivan asked Theadore to come help. Theadore went to help, but a sudden urge came over him. Theadore decided to push down on the weight with all of his might. The snapped the Strongman's neck, and Ivan was no more. Served him right for making fun of him, thought Theadore.

When Theadore was a child, he would always get in trouble. He would always say he got in trouble for nothing. His father would beat his mother, and always say to Theadore it was nothing. When the others saw Ivan, they immediately asked Theadore what had happened. Theadore said that he wasn't strong enough, and then started laughing. Susan was Ivan's girlfriend and the high flyer. She started to attack Theadore, but the ring leader stepped in. Later that night, the others plotted against Theadore. They just knew he was at fault.

One of the midgets named Crazy Larry decided to beat Theadore with a bat. This nearly killed him. When Theadore reported the incident, everyone said it was just nothing. Later that night, Larry's body was found hanging upside down by his feet from the high flyer trapeze. In his blood read the word "this is nothing". Theadore was later found and when asked if he had anything to say to himself, he simply smiled and said "my name is Theadore, and I get in trouble for doing nothing.

We never know the horror that someone else may have gone through. While there exist monsters in our imagination, often times the real monsters are in plain sight. Never inflict harm on another, else you accept 10 times the stones you threw.

Little People

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "Little People". I hope you enjoy tonight's tell of terror. Think back, if you will, to the time of when you were a child. Do you recall ever sleeping with your favorite stuffed animal, only to find it missing the next day? You may have been the victim of "Little People". Not little people in the traditional sense, but something to call them for lack of a better word.

If you ever stare in the dark long enough without blinking, you may start to see tiny specks in front of you. Little dots almost. These dots will sometimes form the outlines of what appears to be a little person. They will dance, play, and sometimes take things back with them. They do not harm anyone, but they can be an annoyance if they happen to steal something important to you.

Our story takes place in the home of Anna. Anna was not afraid of anything, and a rather spoiled child. One night, she was paid a visit by the little people. They danced and played. They knew they had been spotted, so they gave Anna quite the show. They took her favorite bear before she could stop them, and quickly disappeared. Most people would just fall back to sleep, and convivence themselves the next day it was just a silly dream and the item had been misplaced. Anna, for some reason, remembered quite well that she had some tiny visitors. She decided to do something that no one ever had, and follow them.

The next night, she cuddled another of her treasured stuffed animals. this time, the tiny people did a little carnival in front of her. They had tiny horses and tiny everything. She could not tell their faces or what they looked like, because they were made out of little speckles. to the untrained, tired eye, they would look like static or that your eyes were just straining. She followed them and watched them go through her wall. One of them held up a hand when he saw her, signaling for her to stop. They then jumped through the wall. She decided she would also jump through the wall, but she hit her head.

Frustrated, she decided to see if anyone else may have seen these people. She went online using her tablet (being the spoiled child she was) and found a website claiming that you could enter their world by drawing a door and knocking three times, but that it warned of dangers beyond the door. That no one ever comes back out. Anna was not afraid though.

Anna drew the door after watching the tiny people's show. She knocked and entered their realm. There, she realized she was quite small. She saw a mountain of objects, probably all of the toys and treasures taken by the tiny people. She saw many missing socks, a favorite fork, and countless stuffed animals. She climbed to the top and there she saw it. A giant baby! The little people were giving it toy after toy and it would just scream, cry, and throw it. She went to the baby and was fascinated by it. The baby stopped but a moment, only to crush her with his hand.

Sometimes we don't know why things occur, but sometimes it is best to not seek the unexplainable. One should be thankful for what they have, and all the things in the world may not bring you peace. Materials often fuel the monster within.

Monster Under the Bed

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "The Monster Under the Bed". I hope you enjoy tonight's tell of terror. These stories are all original, so if you see my content on any other sites aside from those mentioned, the content is stolen. My main motivation is not financial compensation, though your support does help motivate me to continue creating more content. Without further delay, prepare to experience dread.

Billy, like many children, believed that there was a monster under the bed. Every night, Billy would wake up screaming. He would run into his parents room, and beg them to let him sleep there. Billy's father was getting very upset that his son continued to do this over the years. No matter what he tried, Billy just continued to always be afraid of the "monster". His father would always check under the bed and reassure his son. He stated that Billy was no longer allowed to continue to sleep in the room with them.

Billy's dad had been working hard all day, and was very tried. That night, Billy woke him up due to the monster again. He was furious, so he told Billy he was going to put a stop to his childishness. Billy always said that the monster would tell him that if he hung his foot off his bed, that he would eat. That he was hungry. His dad said this was not real, so he tied the little boy's foot off the bed so he could not move. Billy cried and cried, but his dad did not care. When his mother came to aid him, the father hit her across the face. He told her it was her fault for raising such a weak child.

That night, the monster came. The monster ended up licking the child's foot, but did not bite him. The monster thanked him, and said he had been starving. He was never going to eat him, as he only eats bad people. He stated that kids always get their feet so dirty, and he liked to eat the dirt and dead skin from the foot. That is why often times one sock goes missing, because his kind are messy eaters and will eat a sock here or there.

Billy told his dad that he knew how to get over being afraid of monsters. He wanted his dad to tie his own foot off the bed, and show him that the monsters are not real. His father, irritated that not even forcing Billy into hanging his foot off seemed to help, agreed. That night, the monster came back. This time; however, he ate Billy's dad whole. Billy and his mom lived happily ever after.

Monsters are most certainly real, but most do not hide out of plain site. As it were, Billy's monster was the very person there to protect him. His own father. The real cruelty of the world is far darker than any horror story could be. Never mistake a friendly face as a friend or a sinister one for a foe. Time often reveals all things.

The Man

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "The Man". These stories are all original, so if you see my content on any other sites aside from those mentioned, the content is stolen. My main motivation is not financial compensation, though your support does help motivate me to continue creating more content. Without further delay, prepare to experience dread.

There once was a man that had everything. He was beyond handsome. He was stronger than most. He had near endless cash. His health was suburb, to the point his doctor would joke about how he never aged. This man seemingly was perfect. The only thing is, this man was evil. The man had no morals to speak of.

One day, he met a beautiful woman. One, he thought, was nearly as beautiful as himself. As with all things in this man's life, he sought to take what he wanted. He pursued the woman. He dazzled her with gifts, affection, and his snake-like charm. It was not long after that, the woman decided that he was the person for her.

Now that she belonged to him, she was thought of as property. He soon stopped caring about her needs or wants. He started to treat her poorly, even to the point of abuse. She was simply something he owned, and he expected to do as he wished. She was trapped. Regardless of that fact, the Woman couldn't help but continue to love the Man. She did all she could to support him.

One day, after a rather severe beating, the Man decided he would make things all better by buying the woman a dog. The issue is, the Man despised dogs. This was the only act of kindness the Man had done for the Woman in so long, she was so thrilled and happy.

As it so often seems, the person that hated the dog, in this case the man, was the prime target of the dog's affection. It would follow the dog around their farm helplessly, as though it's existence evolved around the man. The man would start to torcher the poor dog. First a kick here or there, then more severe like a poke in the eye with a stick. One day when the woman was gone, the man gouged out one of the eyes of the dog. The woman, upset, asked what happened. The man stated the stupid mut got his head stuck in a barbed-wire fence. The Woman believed the man, she always did. The Man would go on to break all of the dogs legs, break one of it's ribs, take the other eye, and eventually the poor dog felt the release of death. All the while, the dog continued to love the man. All the while the woman continued to love and believe the man.

The woman did not realize that she was not the man's first wife. He was actually married many times before. He used his good looks and charm to win over women of means. He would then kill his wife in an "accident" after he tired of their existence in his world or they would get wise to the monster he was. After the end of a rather heated argument, the man lashed out and knocked the woman down the stairs. This resulted in her neck breaking. He buried her body and collected the life insurance and her property. He attended the funeral as though nothing was wrong.

A preacher came to the home the next day to offer comfort to the man for his loss. He taught the word of God. The man did not wish to hear the preacher, but he was insistant. The preacher started to realize that the wife's death may have not been an accident, so he started to confront the man. He begged the man to confess his sins. He just wished to save the man's soul, and he would not turn him into the police. The man pretended to go along with it, but when they closed their eyes in prayer, the man stabbed the preacher quickly in the throat with a pen. He proceeded to stab him time after time. The preacher eventually drown from his own blood.

Time went on, and the Man thought he once again was able to take what he wanted. Until one night, he saw a woman appear before him. It was his wife. She told the man that she was never a Woman at all. She was a heavenly spirt. She believed that the man had good in him, and spent her time on earth trying to show the man love. This was the first time he refused salvation. The man laughed, as he thought it was just a dream.

The next night the dog came to the Man. He stated he was the spirt of God's creatures. He was a loyal and faithful friend to the man during his time on earth. He had stood by his side, no matter what the Man did. This was the second time that the man refused forgiveness. The man, a little shaken, just laughed it off.

The night after the spirt of the Preacher appeared. He stated that he was the final person to offer the man salvation. He was the spirt of atonement. Yet the man denied salvation a 3rd time despite every effort to save his soul. His soul shall not be saved. The spirt advised that he would have one final visitor, but not for awhile. First he would suffer in life, as he made those around him suffer. The man was scared, but he refused to admit that to himself. He decided that it made more sense that he just needed to quit drinking.

The next day, as the Man worked on the farm, he tripped and fell perfectly on a rake that was left out. He ended up losing both of his eyes. He thought this was just a coincidence. The following day after he left the hospital, the steps he pushed his wife down broke, sending him down them. He ended up breaking both of his legs. No one was there to get him and he went without food or water for 3 days until the farm hand happened upon him. Rats had started eating at him at this point. He ended up losing both of his legs as a result. After weeks of recovery, the man returned home. That very same day a family heirloom, a sword, fell off the wall and landed right on his spine. At this point, the man was blind, and now lost all function do to the sword paralyzing his body. All he could do was feel pain and speak.

That night at the hospital, the faithful visitor that was fortold to be coming did come. The voice was powerful, and struck fear instantly into the man. The man asked if he was there to kill him. The spirt said he most certainly was, but he was going to live a very very long time. The man asked if he was God himself, sent to punish him for his sins. The spirt started to laugh deeply, and replied he most certainly was not God. In fact, he was the farthest thing from heaven. The man knew then it was only possible for it to be one spirt before him. He stated he sought God's forgiveness and that he would have salvation. The spirt started to laugh, and stated even if he sincerely meant that, it was too late. 3 times he denied salivation and now salvation would be denied to him.

One should never take for granted the gifts that they are given. The tried and true saying "do onto others, as you wish done onto you" may also come to mind. The Man truly reaped what he had sewed. If all of your evil acts were done onto you, would you be in worse shape than the Man? It is never too late to start trying to be a better person. You never know when your 3rd strike is up and it is too late for forgiveness.

Mr. Carrot

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "Mr. Carrot". There once was a boy that had no friends. He was very shy and awkward. His parents never really paid him much attention either, so he was often left to his own devices. One day, he was playing in the sandbox on the school playground. He found something buried under the sand. It appeared to be an orange toy of sorts. Upon further investigation, it revealed itself to be a rubber carrot. In its appearance, it looked something similar to what you may purchase for a dog for a squeak toy. The child, excited that he had found something, decided to place the little Carrot into his coat pocket.

The day continued as normal. The little boy nearly had forgotten about his unusual find. He rushed to his room upon his return from school. His parents barely acknowledged him, so he knew he would have plenty of time to play with his new toy. He pulled the Carrot out of his pocket, and said "hello Mr. Carrot, I would love to be your friend.". Having no real friends, the little boy became quite accustomed to pretending. While playtime always felt real at times, none of his other toys ever said anything back. This time was different, as Mr. Carrot spoke back to the child. "Hello little boy, I would love to be your friend." The Carrot spoke with a gentle smile upon his face. Though startled, the little boy was delighted to have a friend.

The little boy and Mr. Carrot were inseparable. The little boy would take Mr. Carrot to school, and everywhere else he would go. One day, the little boy ended up getting in trouble at school because of Mr. Carrot. They were busy taking a Math test, and Mr. Carrot kept trying to whisper answers to the little boy. The teacher thought that the little boy was trying to cheat on his Math test. The little boy was upset, and told Mr. Carrot that he would have to wait until he got home from school each day. Mr. Carrot was upset to not be able to join his friend to class, but understood the reasoning.

Though the boy and Mr. Carrot remained close for a long time, the little boy grew. As with all things, time changed the little boy. He was finally able to make real friends. He started to speak to Mr. Carrot less and less. It reached the point he had nearly convinced  himself that he had just imagined the entire thing with Mr. Carrot. He just thought maybe it was all in his head, simply an imaginary friend he had made up in order to feel comfort. One day, the boy left Mr. Carrot on the ground. This was the first time the boy had left Mr. Carrot on the ground, as the family had a pet dog.

The pet dog found Mr. Carrot on the ground. As with any rubber toy, the dog tore it to little bits. The dog ended up swallowing some of Mr. Carrot. As the day went on, the dog became quite ill. The boy came home from school and could see the tiny bits of his friend. Even though the child had grown away from what he considered now an imaginary friend, he still missed Mr. Carrot. The dog continued to get sick, and the family started to get concerned. They all imagined he would pass the parts of Mr. Carrot he had eaten in his stool.

The boy beat his parents' home that day, as he was let out early from the homecoming game. He found the family's dog disemboweled on the kitchen floor. The dog's guts were scattered throughout the room. The boy's parents rushed home after receiving the news. They were in total shock that this could have happened, but the boy had an idea of what could have caused it. He knew how crazy it all sounded, but he thought maybe, just maybe his friend was not so imaginary. After all, all those years, Mr. Carrot seemed so real. He couldn't have totally just dreamed it all could he? Was he crazy, was it all in his head. The little boy struggled to get to sleep, but he eventually was able to close his eyes.

That night Mr. Carrot came out of his hiding place. He crawled down the hall into the boy's room. He climbed up the sheets of the boy's bed. He climbed to position himself on top of the little boy. He said "hey friend, its me, Mr. Carrot". The little boy went to scream, but before he could, Mr. Carrot drove the pointed end of his body deep into the boy's throat. It was done with such force, it went totally through the poor child's head. When the boy's parents went to wake him up from school, they saw their child with a hole through his head. There was no sign of Mr. Carrot anywhere.

At school the next day, a little girl was playing in the sandbox, and found something orange.

Just like the classic children's song, one should make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold. Did the little boy kill himself due to his depression and the trauma caused by seeing the dog dead, or was the Carrot truly real? When one starts speaking to imaginary friends, one should always make sure they are in fact imaginary, or better still, a friend at all.

A Dark Christmas Tale

Hello dear viewers, and welcome to tonight's dreadful experience. Tonight's tell of dread is "A Dark Christmas Tale". This...
